Item Description

Wulfenite specimens from Tsumeb are uncommon and this big, gemmy amber crystal with a touch of matrix is excellent and showy in a way that most Tsumeb examples are not. This sharp, isolated crystal measure an amazing 3.4 cm on edge, and is accented beautifully on a small sliver of pinkish brown matrix and it is remarkably complete! It has exceptional luster and a very appealing amber-orange color with window-pane transparency in places. This robust crystal has a small cluster of several, smaller, parallel growth Wulfenites of the same fabulous color and luster set right in the middle of it for maximum effect and aesthetics! A few tiny dings, but near pristine overall. The composition and balance of this miniature is incredible. Quite excellent and artistic for Tsumeb! This is a famous find from the 1980s, surely from the same pocket zone as the famous MR cover piece. It has a look that sets it apart from ALL other Tsumeb and worldwide wulfenites for the shocking metallic luster and color combination. Valued $10,000-plus.
