Wulfenite on Calcite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A lovely reference specimen from the famous Old Yuma Mine featuring a few sharp, lustrous, gemmy, red-orange color tabular crystals of Wulfenite measuring up to 2 mm on crystallized Calcite on matrix. A few of the Wulfenites are contacted, but the main crystals are in excellent shape. From my experience, it is hard to find matrix specimens of Wulfenite from the Old Yuma Mine. This is certainly an older specimen, and would make a nice pickup for anybody who is a fan of Wulfenites or Arizona material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#799). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
