Wulfenite on Calcite (classic locale)

11 larger, bright butterscotch-colored, lustrous and translucent blocky wulfenite prisms are aesthetically scattered on the sculptural small cabinet matrix plate covered with starkly contrasting and typical, sparkly sugary calcite. Gentle edge bruising to the wulfenite at the top of the piece, to the crystal on the lower right, very trivial bruising to a few more crystals and to the bit of contacting on the left side of the calcite field are noted, but are certainly modest detractions. Older material, wulfenite of this style came out in the 1960s to 1980s. See the 2003 Mineralogical Record article in Mexico Special Issue III, Vol. 34, No. 6. This is a showy, older and excellent wulfenite combination example of this varietal from the famous Erupcion Mine at Los Lamentos. Fine specimen with isolated crystals!
