Yellow wulfenite prisms, to 1.1 cm, are richly and aesthetically scattered on the sculptural mounded matrix of tiny sparkly calcite rhombs on this colorful and fine combination specimen from this historic Arizona locale. Hilltop Mine wulfenites are some of the most desirable and difficult to obtain in excellent specimens due the mine remoteness and old mining history. First produced in 1881, shipments were made by burro and wagon in the 1880's. Best production years were 1924 - 1927 and the mine was worked intermittently until about 1954 (MINDAT).
