Wulfenite on Calcite (1996 find)

An impressive and significant large wulfenite specimen from the major 1996 find at the famous and now-closed Red Cloud Mine. Gemmy and lustrous, reddish-orange prisms (2 at 1.5 cm) are aesthetically scattered on the sculptural matrix covered with contrasting, sparkly, calcite micro-rhombs. As with most Red Cloud wulfies, these beauties have classic, sharp, beveled edges. The wulfenites on this imposing piece are nearly all pristine, except for trivial edgewear to the two large crystals. You have to look to notice. Rarely available in this uncommon size and quality except from recycled advanced collections. Fairly valued at $2500.
