Wulfenite on Calcite

Item Description

Five pristine, larger, blocky, tabular wulfenite crystals like caramels in shape, are aesthetically strewn across the large blocky matrix covered with typical and contrasting drusy calcite. The highly lustrous wulfenites, to 1.3 cm are the classic "sandwich style" with bright butterscotch-colored prism faces and darker caramel-colored interiors. Older material, wulfenite of this style came out in the 1960s to 1980s. See the 2003 Mineralogical Record article in Mexico Special Issue III, Vol. 34, No. 6. This is a showy, older and excellent wulfenite combination example of this varietal from the famous Erupcion Mine at Los Lamentos. Fine large specimen!
