Item Description

Beautiful golden-orange, highly lustrous, gemmy to translucent wulfenite prisms, to 1.8 cm, artistically fill a sculptural vug on two sides of the gossan matrix on this very fine old-time specimen from Tombstone's Toughnut Mine. All of the many major crystals in the vug are pristine. Classic, very fine and rich wulfenite from this mine from the Bruce Murphy Collection and collected in circa the 1880s, when mining was at its peak at this small underground Pb-Ag-Zn-Cu-Au-V-(Cd) mine.
