Item Description
This is an important crystal for Tsumeb because of the sheer size. The specimen is literally a single, large, thick, impressive, caramel-colored crystal of Wulfenite from this world-class deposit. This substantial crystal has great presence with its big, rectangular, relatively thick form, beveled edges and satin luster. The Wulfenite is complete all around with only some minor bruising along the edges. For teh size, it is shockingly good. We do not show it strongly backlit, but it is somewhat translucent and glowy with strong light behind it. And for added effect, there are a few small, black-brown, manganese oxide stained clusters of Quartz crystals that are strategically placed at two places along the edges. A robust Wulfenite from Tsumeb! Hard to value, as it is not perfect but it is rather large and significant, and truly impressive on a shelf. I first had this specimen in the mid 1990s and in fact it comes with my old label from 1996 in San Diego, noting I had just bought it from the Pietsch collection out of Namibia (through Marshall Sussman, who acquired it).
