Item Description
A great quality and hard to find Wulfenite specimen from the renowned copper deposit at Kimbedi in the Congo. Typically, the Wulfenites from this locality are small and somewhat non-descript, but this one is BIG and attractive for the locality. The important aspect of this Wulfenite is the fact that it is not opaque, but actually shows a bit of translucency when backlit. The best part of the piece is the ELECTRIC orange color! This piece came direct in a lot of Dioptase specimens from Kimbedi, and stands as one of the finest examples from the locality that we know of. It's not perfect, it has a bit of roughness, but it's still in very good overall condition. VERY hard to find, better in person, and valued at $500 for its rarity and size. I'm sure this one is going to end up being a great bargain for somebody who collects secondary ore minerals, thumbnails or just Wulfenite, but make no mistake, this is an imporant specimen for the locality.
