Item Description

A gorgeous yellow-orange, 1.4 cm, transparent wulfenite windowpane with beautiful sharp beveled edges is jauntily set on matrix on this outstanding single crystal minature from the famous Old Yuma Mine, near Tucson. Old Yuma wulfenites are among the most desirable and uncommon wulfenites from the classic Arizona localities including the Red Cloud Mine, Hilltop Mine, Defiance Mine, Glove Mine and Rowley Mine. The last finds at the Old Yuma were in the 1980s, as the locality is now in a National Monument. Nearly pristine, with only a couple of TINY bruises on the edges. See the 1983 Mineralogical Record Arizona-IV Special Issue, Vol. 14, No. 2. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. A classic and STUNNING matrix miniature from the Old Yuma Mine.
