Item Description

A fantastic looking and RARE miniature combination from this extinct Pb-Ag-F-Ba-Mn-Zn-Cu-Au-V-Mo district. Glassy, transparent to translucent yellow wulfenite windowpanes with sharp beveled edges, to 6 mm, dramatically accent a sculptural wreath of intergrown blocky translucent to transparent RARE fluorite crystals with satin lustre. I particularly like the way the wulfenites are strikingly framed around and in the large open vug and smaller vugs. Most ore was mined prior to World War I, with intermittent reworking until the 1960s. Possibly from the Puzzler Mine. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. An outstanding, artistic and VERY RARE combination from the district, but a really interesting and showy piece from ANYWHERE.
