Wulfenite is a beloved mineral species for many collectors. Of the many localities where Wulfenite is found, few are as iconic as the beautiful specimens from the classic Ahumada Mine in Los Lamentos, Mexico. Typically, Wulfenite crystals are rather thin and "wafer"-like but the crystals from this locality are almost always thicker in habit. This classic and showy display piece features gorgeous, thick, fine quality, beautiful rich orange colored tabular crystals of Wulfenite measuring up to 1.6 cm on Goethite covered white Calcite matrix. The piece is incredibly showy and eye-catching, so it stands out as being simply more attractive than most Wulfenites we've offered from Los Lamentos in a while. Despite the fairly thick nature of the Wulfenite crystals, they are still a bit translucent in areas when backlit, and some of them even show slight "phantom"-esque color zones. Most of the Wulfenites are undamaged, though I can see a few tiny imperfections when I look closely. I love the slick vitreous lusters on the edges of the crystals, which gives them character and a beautiful reflective sheen.
