Item Description
A predominant, 1.6 cm, sharp, lustrous, GEM/gemmy, rich orange-red, tabular Wulfenite crystal is associated with a few smaller crystals (some are water clear) on matrix. The main crystals is in great shape despite one contact on the upper right hand side. The color of these crystals is superb, and there are some electric internal reflections that can be seen when the piece is rotated in the light. There are also some mirco Mimetite/Vanadinite crystals on both sides of the piece as well, and I have photographed them under the microscope to illustrate their quality. A nice specimen from one of the single most important localities in the Western United States. Considering that this locality has been completely buried and never will be mined again, these specimens are commanding a premium nowadays. This piece came from one of the few parts of the Red Cloud mine that produced the highly sought after gem "window pane" habit crystals. Valued at $1200 retail.
