Item Description
A striking, impressive, CABINET plate is festooned with lustrous, carmel-colored wulfenite crystals to 1.0 cm from the famous Los Lamentos, Mexico. This sculptural piece is on the HIGHLY DESIRABLE, snow-white matrix. Essentially pristine, with only very trivial perihpery wear. We believe the massive matrix is mammilary hemimorphite, as the mineral is harder and denser than calcite. I traded this from a private collection recently, and am sacrificing it here for cash flow even though it won't reach at auction near what I believe it to be worth: VERY fairly valued at $1200-1500 for size, quality and color. These were found mostly in the 1950s and 1960s, and good large specimens are hard to come by now
