This stunning specimen is from the legendary miniatures collection of the late dealer and collector Marion Godshaw, and is literally the iconic example of this classic 'orange sandwich' style of wulfenite from this most famous of Mexico locations. It has the best color, the best luster, the best sparkle, and the most equant cube-like symmetry you can ask for in this material, all displayed dramatically upon a sparkling matrix of barite. Interestingly, the matrix is micrcrystallized itself, not the all too common flat and barren style of acid-washed barite you see from here. It is crystallized, and sparkles like white sugar. Mixed in with the tiny barite crystals atop are tiny microcrystals of wulfenite that add sparkly color themselves. It is truly one of the finest miniatures of this material we have ever seen, and was a favorite in the size class among Jack's collection. Valued 45000-10,000, it is hard to say enough superlative about the exceptional quality of this piece.
