Item Description

A wonderful thumbnail specimen from the world-famous Red Cloud Mine featuring an intense orange-red color tabular crystal of Wulfenite measuring 1.0 cm beautifully perched atop minor oxidized matrix. Several tiny accenting Wulfenite crystals can be seen on the lower portion of the specimen. Very good quality, though the top left corner has a minor bruise where it was attached to the pocket wall. A nice display quality specimen from this historic locality. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
