Item Description

The thick, blocky, tabular, wulfenite crystals on this two-sided specimen are nearly all covered by two varieties of vanadinite variety endlichite on this showy and excellent specimen from the noted Los Lamentos locale. Lustrous, butterscotch-colored wulfenites to 1.9 cm peer out of the top of the side covered with super-sparkly endlichite microcrystals. The other side, with much greater wulfenite coverage, is coated with mostly matte, chocolate-brown endlichite. The wulfies also reach 1.9 cm on this side. This is a very highly representative and fine, nearly pristine example of this combination varietal from this famous mine. Ex Mullane Collection, so this piece dates to the 1960s or 70s.. Some people consider these ugly wulfenites, I admit. However, it IS a rare varietal combination and as far as I know, unique to the locale. To me, this adds a lot of interest value
