A rich and attractive old-time wulfenite plate from this well-known extinct Pb-Ag mine, o eof the most rare of antique USA wulfenite localities to collect. Stevenson-Bennett Mine wulfenites are a New Mexico classic. Sharp, matte-lustre, butterscotch tabular wulfenites, to 2.5 cm, cover this very fine small cabinet. The unusual aspect is that one side of many of the blades have a preferential coating of tiny secondary wulfenites with iron oxide coatings, giving the blades a different looking appearance and contrasting to the larger blades. Commercial mining ceased in 1920 and it is thought that most specimens were found in the time of 1900-1910.
