Wulfenite - classic old style ex Rock Currier coll.

This elongated plate of matrix hosts STUNNING crystals of wulfenite with the best color and this is just a classic example of what came out in the 1960s and 1970s - and has not been seen since. It is a significant display specimen not for size overall, but for elegance and color "pop" as you look at it. Despite the size, it is nearly pristine, with a three-dimensional quality seldom seen to these (they usually occur as simply flat plates). Lustrous and translucent, butterscotch colored crystal 'sandwiches' of wulfenite, to 1.6 cm across, are perched aesthetically on massive white matrix...it is just pretty! The back side is festooned with drusy reddish brown descloizite. Ex. Earl Calvert (early to mid-1900s dealer and collector) and Rock Currier (our dear friend, who passed away a few years ago) collections. This was in principle common stuff in his heyday as a collector but THIS is not a common piece and hence he kept it himself, for his own collection, when he bought the gigantic collection of Earl Calvert back in the 1990s.
