Item Description
Rich, aesthetic and sculptural wulfenite from famed Tsumeb. Fine Tsumeb wulfenite specimens are just not that common and this is an exceptional small cabinet. Beautiful flax-yellow, lustrous and translucents prisms, to 1.1 cm, with striking, stepped, razor edge terminations are richly peppered and dramatically set on the sturdy curved gossan matrix. Very nearly pristine, with trivial hard-to-see bruising in the interior and very minimal periphery wear. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9972 and acquired at Tucson in 1983. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic, uncommon, rich and excellent Tsumeb wulfenite. Valued at $1000-1250.
