Item Description

The famous Whim Creek Copper Mine is a well-known copper-zinc deposit in Western Australia that dates back to 1887, but most of the specimens you'll see on the market today were collected in 1985. Most collectors know the beautiful pseudomorphs of Malachite after Azurite (sometimes Chrysocolla has replaced the Malachite, making them double-pseudomorphs), along with the wonderful specimens featuring beautiful, albeit small Wulfenite crystals. This miniature specimen hosts dozens of very sharp, lustrous, textbook, well-formed, gemmy, golden colored crystals of bi-pyramidal and blocky Wulfenite measuring up to 3 mm on botryoidal Hematite / Goethite matrix. Nearly every crystal is pristine, and they look fantastic under magnification. We've photographed the crystals with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate their quality. A great specimen for any fan of secondary ore minerals, worldwide Wulfenites, Australian specimens or micro collectors. These are rarely available on the market these days, so don't miss out.
