Item Description

A rare, super-rich and showy two-sided combination piece from this well-known and historic Tombstone District mine in Arizona. A plethora of glassy, butterscotch-yellow Wulfenite crystals to 7 mm line both sides of the gossanous matrix and the crystals on both sides of this attractive and important piece are embellished with small, yellow Mimetite botryoids to 2 mm. Mimetite is rare from this classic Arizona locality. This must have been a significant find, as even the mine level is given as the 450' level which is the bottom of the Toughnut Mine (MINDAT). Choice, rich and desirable combination specimen from the Bruce Murphy Collection (a well known Bay Area collector specializing in Arizona minerals for many years).
