Wulfenite

Item Description

This amber brown, transparent, well formed Wulfenite crystal originates from Dr. Georg Gebhard's personal Tsumeb collection (he is the author of the Tsumeb books I and II) and a specialist collector. This tabular, robust, rectangular shaped crystal has super glassy faces with beveled edges that are a result of pyramid modifications. The big faces display intriguing, barely perceptible, rectangular shaped growth hillocks on their surfaces. It is transparent everywhere except in the central area that contains dark inclusions internally and small, rounded, gray-white Cerussite crystal aggregates on the surface. One of the corners has a ding. This fine Wulfenite thumbnail is from the 3rd oxidation zone at Tsumeb. Ex. Dr. Georg Gebhard collection.
