Wulfenite

Classic butterscotch-colored, lustrous and translucent, blocky and tabular wulfenite prisms are aesthetically clustered and isolated on the 3-dimensional matrix on this showy older specimen from famed Los Lamentos. The isolated crystal on the corner is 2.0 cm. The starkly contrasting and complimentary coated white crust may be densely bladed hemimorphite, as a dental tool barely scratches the mineral. It is certainly harder than calcite or barite. Periphery wear is noted, but this remains a striking and highly representative older combination example of the species and noted locale with several display views. From an East Coast collection
