Item Description
Fabulously glassy, GEMMY to translucent to opaque, wulfenite blades form a striking, very rich, jackstraw specimen from thie famous Tsumeb Mine. The crystals range from honey-brown to a few superlative, gemmy, orange/yellow-brown crystals. The blades reach about 3.3 cm and the gorgeous, gemmy, stepped-growth crystal is 9 mm. Although many crystals are broken, there are some intact ones protected in this large vug and in any case this is a very colorful piece with great luster, and rich color, for a Tsumeb wulfenite. An old label, typed, says that this is from the 2nd oxidation zone, and thus was probably one of the last pieces added to this collection. Sparkly, drusy mottramite covers much of the back. A fine, rich and striking Tsumeb wulfenite. Valued at $950.
