Wulfenite (1996 find)

A very aesthetic and showy thumbnail from the notorious April Fool's Day Pocket, 1996 find at the famous and now-closed Red Cloud Mine. A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, 1.6 cm, complex reddish-orange, wulfenite crystal is elegantly perched on a pedestal of smaller wulfenites, complimentary calcite and a bit of gossan matrix. The large wulfie has superbly beveled edges. Yes, there is a bit of edgewear, but this remains a very fine thumbnail example of the species and renowned locale. And it won't break the bank to own it.
