Wulfenite

Highly lustrous, glassy, translucent, caramel-colored, "sandwich style", bi-colored tabular wulfenite prisms are strikingly festooned on the undulating, contrasting, sugary snow-white calcite small cabinet matrix. The prisms have darker centers and lighter faces, a classic Los Lamentos crystal style. The stout wulfenite at the top is 1.0 x 0.6 cm and the specimen has crystals up to 1.2 cm on edge. A dusting of brown, arsenic-bearing Vanadinite microcrystals on the lower right is a typical accessory and fine contrast. The very minimal interior bruising and periphery wear are certainly only a modest detraction to this very showy piece. Classic, excellent and rich wulfenite of this style from 1970s to 1980s finds at the famous Erupcion Mine.
