Wulfenite

A very nice and extremely hard-to-obtain Wulfenite from the type locality at Bad Bleiberg in Austria, large in size and showy. This cabinet size, roughly triangular-shaped specimen is covered with dozens of vibrant, yellow-orange, thin, platy crystals from 5 mm to 3 cm across. The tabular Wulfenite crystals are lustrous, translucent, roughly squarish in outline and their orange color contrasts nicely with the brown, Goethite-rich matrix. This is not pristine, but is very close to undamaged and as it is likely 50-100 years old, we can accept some small damages in any case. Distribution of the Wulfenite crystals is ideal with most of them evenly distributed across the piece as isolated crystals or lightly clustered to preserve their crystal shapes. These are very difficult to obtain and this is a great specimen! Such pieces are valued highly in Europe.
