OLD-TIME, RARE and rich wulfenite from this famous New Mexico locale. The faded old label from the Bennett Mine dates the piece from 1887 (discovery date) to 1889, when the Bennett and Stevenson properties were merged! Dense jackstraw, lustrous, butterscotch-colored prisms, to 1.7 cm, cover the undulating gossan matrix on this outstanding, rich and rare old-timer from this noted locale. The piece has mulitple fine display views and the bit of noted bruising is certainly acceptable in the context of this old-timer. Ex Miller Collection and valued by the former dealer at $750. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
