Item Description
Beautiful, intensely sparkly, gemmy "electric-blue" azurite microcrystals dramatically and preferentially cover a portion of the sky-blue Woodwardite crust on the sculptural large gossan matrix. The azurite microcrystals nearly cover the surreal segmented Woorwardite "waves" on part of the piece. Woodwardite is rare hydrated Cu-Al sulfate secondary mineral found in the oxidized zone of copper deposits, but is quite rare as aesthetic specimens. This is a RARE, stunning, colorful and sculptural large combination from a small 2021 find in China. The Type Locality and most prolific for the species is in Cornwall, England, with specimens also coming from Italy, Greece and Arizona. This is a SIGNIFICANT RARITY, as MINDAT does not list the species in China. This gorgeous. sculptural large combination is unlike anything else. We have some few left form a large purchase in the past. This outstanding example has several fine display views.
