Woodwardite w/ Azurite (rare combo - 2021 find)

Woodwardite is rare hydrated Cu-Al sulfate secondary mineral found in the oxidized zone of copper deposits, but is quite rare as aesthetic specimens. This is a RARE, stunning, colorful and sculptural large combination from a small 2021 find in China. Dazzling bright blue Azurite crystals fill dramatic segmented sections artistically set across the top of the striking boot-shaped specimen. A scalloped crust of pretty sky-blue and bone-white Woodwardite covers the rest of the matrix. The Type Locality and most prolific for the species is in Cornwall, England, with specimens also coming from Italy, Greece and Arizona. This is a SIGNIFICANT RARITY, as MINDAT does not list the species in China. This beautiful and weirdly lightweight combination is unlike anything else. We have some few left form a large purchase in the past.
