Item Description

Surreal specimen composed of 3-dimensional rows of vivid turquoise-blue and light greenish-blue rolling "waves" of woodwardite , compose this otherworldy light weight crust from a NEW FIND in China (march 2020). Woodwardite is rare hydrated Cu-Al sulfate secondary mineral found in the oxidized zone of copper deposits but quite rare as aesthetic specimens. The Type Locality and most prolific for the species is in Cornwall, England, with specimens also coming from Italy, Greece and Arizona. This is a SIGNIFICANT RARITY, as MINDAT does not list the species in China. It is a small new find from march of 2020. Totally unlike anything else : The optics on this piece are fabulous, when the piece is rotated! Fantastic and colorful natural Modern Art! Mass is only 36 grams due to the aluminum content, and so it feels strange in your hands.
