Item Description
Woodhouseite is a rare calcium aluminum phosphate hydroxy-sulfate species, and the best pieces come from the type locality, the Champion Mine in California. This piece is a great representation of this famous material featuring several sharp, lustrous, soft beige colored crystals of Woodhouseite measuring up to 4 mm sitting on white Quartz matrix. The crystals are in great condition, and look beautiful up close. If you collect rarities, or minerals from the type locality, you need a good Woodhouseite in your collection. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
