Item Description

This is a wonderful thumbnail display specimen of the famous specimens of Woodhouseite from the type locality, the Champion Mine in California. The piece is filled with very sharp, lustrous, well-formed striated trigonal crystals of soft yellow color Woodhouseite measuring up to 5 mm long. The quality is superb and the crystals look great under magnification. This rare phosphate is named after Charles Douglas Woodhouse (1888-1975), American Mineralogist and mineral collector, University of California, Santa Barbara. A great piece for any fan of rare minerals, phosphate or species from the type locality.
