Item Description
A sculptural spray of splendent, metallic-gray wolframite blades (may be ferberite) from this famous and extinct tungsten mine abandoned in 1973. The blades are sheathed in quartz and SW UV light shows the ghostly white scheelite fragments are embedded on both sides of this showy older piece. The terminations were contacted against the vug walls. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5704 (dating to the late 1960s). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Excellent highly representative combination material from the locale.
