Item Description
Wodginite is a rare multiple oxide with Manganese, Tin and Tantalum. It is typically found in zoned pegmatites in amphibolite, a metamorphic rock that contains hornblende, actinolite and plagioclase (WIKIPEDIA). Specimens are VERY RARE from near the famous Golconda Mine. A very sharp, 2.0 cm, complete all-around prismatic point with splendent to matte metallic luster is aesthetically perched atop the corroded wodginite matrix accented with a bit of massive quartz. A RARE and uncommonly fine example from this famous well-known area. The sharp form of the crystal is noteworthy. This is something you just never see for sale...and we think should be valued well north of $1000, but can auciton here as it came in a lot deal.
