Item Description
A classic and outstanding, hexagonal, tan to white, witherite crystal aesthetically set on a rind of amber fluorite from this noted locale. The lustrous, translucent, blocky crystal has striking, well-developed, stepped-growth faces and a very interesting concave termination. Complete all-around and pristine. Superb older material from the famous Minerva No. 1 Mine. Super white fluorescence, as you would expect. Mined ca. in the 1960s. Ex George Feist Collection # 1752, John and Pat Carlon Collection and Dr. Ed David Collection. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and has assembled several world-class mineral collections. Valued $800-1000. Try to find another combination witherite of this exceptional quality.
