Item Description

A very nice parallel to sub-parallel growth cluster of well-formed, lustrous Witherite crystals from the famed Minerva #1 Mine in the Illinois Fluorspar District. It is a grouping of one larger composite crystal that fans out in the back with a smaller, 2.3cm crystal in the front growing at a slight angle to the main group. All crystals exhibit pseudohexagonal form, a vitreous luster and are translucent to opaque depending on thickness and orientation. This is a nice, stout cluster of handsome Witherite in excellent condition! Highly fluorescent in both short and long wave UV! Ex. Tribbey collection.
