Item Description

Witherite is a classic English mineral species and this very fine, old-time specimen is from the Settlingstones Mine. A striking, sharp, 2.2 cm, bullet-shaped, orthorhombic witherite crystal is jauntily set on the mounded matrix covered with tiny witherite prisms. Seldom do you see witherite from this locale in such excellent crystal quality. Nearly pristine, with only trivial rubbing, with certainly has only minimal impact to the outstanding quality. Specimens like this are seldom seen today and are historic classics. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. Valued $500-750.
