Item Description

Settlingstones Mine witherite is a classic English mineral species and this is a very fine, old-time and rich specimen. An aesthetic cluster of sharp, bullet-shaped, orthorhombic witherite crystals is jauntily set on the sculptural matrix. The glassy, stepped-growth crystals look like Mayan pyramids. Seldom do you see witherite from this locale in such excellent crystal quality. All of the primary crystals are pristine. Specimens like this are seldom seen today and are historic classics. Bright white fluorescence. From an East Coast collection and comes with an obscure New York City dealer label. Jacques Kurtz lived from 1908-1985. Valued $500-750.
