Item Description

Rare morphology or form on this outstanding old witherite from the famous Minerva No. 1 Mine and the Ross Lillie Collection # 1439. The sculpturally intergrown, translucent, bone-white to gray, striated, terminated twinned pseudo-hexagonal dipyramids form a striking hoppered compound crystal with a deep cleft in the center. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The crestal crystals are pristine. It's hard to see the two gentle bruises to the crystal terminations surrounding the sides of the vug. Choice and rare style old witherite mined calculated in the early 1960s. Ghostly white fluorescence.
