Item Description
Intergrown pseudo-hexagonal twinned tan witherite crystals form an aesthetic and sculptural small cabinet specimen from this famous Illinois locale. The dominating crestal crystal is 4.0 cm across. The frosted satin lustre classic stepped-growth nubby faces cover the glassy, translucent underlying witherite. Excellent white fluorescence. Complete all-around and in great shape. The contacting and perphery wear on the right side have minimal impact to the overall fine quality of this piece. Back lighting highlights the quality of the prisms. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1986. Classic and excellent Minerva witherite.
