Item Description
A sculptural and unusual old-time witherite miniature from this famed mine. The 3.4 cm wide by 2.0 cm high witherite crystal is aesthetically set on the witherite and limestone matrix. The striking, sharp, parallel-growth, pseudo-hexagonal crystal looks like flower bulb and is composed of two generations of two-toned witherite. The bit of purple fluorite adds color and pizzazz. Very interestingly, only the second generation has ghostly white fluorescence. A cute miniature from the Ross Lillie Collection # 0672. Ross calculates that this fine piece was mined in the late 1960s. The piece displays well without aid.
