Item Description
Wire silver, rhodochrosite and acanthite combination specimen of this impressive sculptural quality and richness are rare from the famous Uchucchacua Mine. Stout silver wires rise up from a manganite matrix covered with a rich bed of gemmy, rose-pink, rhodochrosite rhombs. The ends of the wires are encased in earthy acanthite and more manganite. The small wires at the base add much character. The visual aspect of this exceptional piece is that of pruned shrubs with twisted trunks set on a bed covered with gemmy, pink stones. The vertical measurement is with the base displayed at an angle (as in the 4-prong base). Very little new material has come out in the last 5 years or more. An outstanding and dramatic combination piece valued at $2000-2500.
