Item Description

A classic, very rich crystalline/wire specimen of native silver from the very historic mining district at Pribram. This area dates back many centuries, and though it is most well-known for its silver deposits, there were also some noted uranium deposits in the region as well. This specimen is from the No. 21 Uranium Mine, and is a great representative silver for the locality. The striking straight wire is nearly 2.0 cm and is very aesthetically placed between two nests of curled and curved wires. The short, thick rope on one side is 1.0 cm thick at its base! A very fine and showy, two-sided small cabinet, that would make a great addition to any silver suite, or a collection of Pribram minerals. It came through the noted John Durkos Collection to the Robert Hauck Silver Collection.
