Item Description
Some of the most well-known wire Silver specimens from Colorado were found in the various mines in Creede in southern Colorado. This piece is from the famous Bulldog (Bulldog Mountain) Mine and features a rich mass of crystallized and dendritic Native Silver featuring many individual "wires" flaring out in various directions. Massive white Barite is easy to see with the naked eye, but I looked at the piece with a loupe, and I can see micro Sphalerite and Quartz along with some reddish spots of what I believe to be Pyrargyrite / Miargyrite along with some tiny tetrahedral crystals of what could be Tetrahedrite or possibly additional Sphalerite crystals. Specimens of wire Silver from Creede are not often seen on the market today, and it's incredibly hard to find such DENSE piece like this on the market. These are truly some of the most classic of all Silvers from Colorado. Specimen weight is 204.55 grams.
