Item Description
Wire silver specimens from the Schlema district of the historic Erzgebirge are a German classic. This solid silver miniature plate has fabulous aesthetics with beautifully burnished silver wires. Two, strikingly different silver wires project upward from the dense tangle of curled and curved wires at the top of the piece. The fat ribbed wire looks like a hydra with tentacles or perhaps a water pitcher with handle and spout and the other (1.5 cm long) looks like a tulip or rose on a long stem. A very sculptural wire silver from the Tim Welting Collection.
