Item Description
Kongsberg silvers are at the top or near the top of the list as the most desirable locality for silvers in the world. This sculptural nest of very bright, beautifully burnished, unusually crinkly wires is dominated by the striking, thick, 1.7 cm, isolated, silver rope. The side-by-side, curved and curled ropes are a super accent. The silver wires are uncommon parallel-growth on one side. This is a very fine, old-time and uncommon varietal from this historic district. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family. 52 grams.
