Wire Silver

Going back to the mid-late 2000s, the Hongda Mine in China was providing collectors with some superb display specimens of wire Silver. Very few of these pieces are available on the market today, I'm told that nothing has been found for several years, and it's a really a shame as the best pieces hold their own against old classics from Kongsberg, Norway, or Freiberg, Germany. This is an attractive miniature specimen featuring an eye-catching, beautiful, striated, curled wire of native Silver, with a few smaller accenting wires, sitting on silvery-grey Acanthite matrix. The main Silver wire measures 2.2 cm long. Sculptural, aesthetic and fun to view close up. I love the old-time antique patina on the Silver, giving it the same classic appearance as those old-time specimens from Europe.
