Item Description

Three sharp crystals of the ultra rare vesuvianite species, wiluite, are aesthetically set on the serpentine matrix from the Co-type Locality (both in the same area). The lustrous, glassy, dark olive-green to black, tetragonal crystals are partially translucent. The doubly terminated crystal is 2.4 cm. These crystals originally sold cheaply as vesuvianite, until they were determined to be a new species. This is a super piece. Ex Wouter van Tichelen Collection.
